"Making better, better."
Paediatric Ward & ICU
We aim to give you a ‘home away from home’ experience, while giving your child the best medical care available. Our paediatric team comprises of experienced nurses, paediatricians and specialists.
PLEASE NOTE
Due to the lack of space and the risk of infection, you are requested not to send/bring flowers to the Unit.
Cellphones, Laptops, Tablets and other electronic devices may not be used in the PICU as they interfere with the electronic equipment in the Unit.
Only one parent is allowed to stay with their child 24/7 and the other parent is allowed to visit during visiting hours only. Each bedside chair can transform into a sleeper couch, with a blanket and pillow provided. For infection control, no self-owned blankets and pillows are allowed in the Paediatric Ward and no parent is allowed to sleep on the ground or in their child’s hospital bed. All patients must be bathed before 06h00. The sleeper couch must be folded back into a chair position at 6h00 every morning and nursing staff will assist in tidying the Paediatric Ward. This is to ensure that the department is neat and organised before the day staff and doctors arrive for their clinical rounds.
VISITING HOURS
15h00 – 16h00 and 19h00 – 20h00
Visits in the unit are strictly controlled for the well-being of patients.
Only two visitors per patient at a time are allowed, including the parents.
No children under the age of 12 years are allowed in the unit.

Peadiatric Ward
We are committed to give you a ‘home away from home’ experience, while giving your child the best medical care available. Our Paediatric team comprises of experienced nurses, Paediatricians and specialists.
An access-controlled door has been installed at the entrance to the Paediatric Ward to limit the number of visitors per bed and to ensure the safety of your child. Parents play a vital role during their child’s recovery and we encourage that at least one parent stays with their child during this time. To ensure that the period of hospitalisation is easier for both parents and their child, we have provided a centralised play area and rest room in the Paediatric Ward. The play area has toys for the children and a television to watch a selection of child-friendly DVDs. A refreshment trolley is also available to sustain parents during their child’s hospital stay. It is essential that you have enough energy to support your child. We suggest that you get enough sleep, have regular meals, exercise and spend some time away from the hospital setting.
