Our History

Conceptualisation of Lady Pohamba Private Hospital’s design commenced in 2012, and during this exciting pen-on-paper time the dreams of creating this proudly Namibian medical facility started to become a reality.

With the structure in place, completed in December, the contractors could proceed with the installation of the roof trusses. The first tiles were laid at the end of 2014 – giving the taste of the ultimate internal aesthetics.
In 2014, LPPH rise from the ground, with the first structural columns being built in January, extending the building into its eventual three floors.

The LPPH site became a hub of activity and transformation during the first quarter of 2015, with the roof sheets installed at the end of February, internal brickwork virtually completed, and the installation of services, vinyl finishes and the faƧade brickwork well underway.

Further aesthetic features in progress, which elevate LPPH’s status within the overall Hilltop Estate, include the impressive exterior concrete columns and the hospital’s extensive main atrium glass panels.

The Hilltop Estate Medical Precinct roof-wetting event, held on 27 April 2015, was a great success.
The event was held on the hospital site, with the primary aim of showcasing the development’s progress, including the LPPH Medical Suites.

The hospital opened its doors on the 18 January 2016. The Ministry of Health and Social Services approved the license of 130 beds, after 6 years 163 beds where added which brought the initial dream to light.
